NEW YORK, NY – February 18, 2026 – Great American Media today announced, “40 Days of Scripture & Film,” a cross-platform Easter celebration spanning Great American Pure Flix, Great American Family and GFAM+. Beginning today through Easter Sunday, Great American Pure Flix presents 40 Days of Scripture & Film, a special seasonal initiative spotlighting its deep library of faith-centered films and devotionals. Complementing this journey, Great American Media will also debut new episodes two Original Series and the World Premiere of the Original Movie Blessings in Disguise across its linear and streaming platforms, offering audiences stories that celebrate faith in everyday life throughout the season.
Throughout the 40-day event, Great American Pure Flix will feature a curated collection of faith-based films, including The Blind, The Girl Who Believes in Miracles, 5000 Blankets, Learning to Love, 47 Days with Jesus, and God’s Not Dead, to name a few. The celebration also includes the mid-winter finale of Season 1 of “Crossroad Springs,” returning to Great American Pure Flix on March 5th and to Great American Family and GFAM+ on March 7th, the World Premiere of Original Movie, Blessings in Disguise, starring Shae Robins (A Christmas Prayer) and Casey Elliott (Destined At Christmas) streaming on Great American Pure Flix, Friday, March 27 and airing on Great American Family and GFAM+ on Saturday, March 28 (8p), and all new season of “When Hope Calls: Brookfield,” streaming on Thursday, April 2, and airing on Great American Family and GFAM+, Saturday, April 4 (8p).

NEW YORK, NY – January 23, 2025 – Great American Media is partnering once again with prolific, award-winning, bestselling author, Karen Kingsbury (A Thousand Tomorrows, Dandelions In the Dust) on her film, Someone Like You, streaming exclusively on Pure Flix, Thursday, February 20 (8p ET) and premiering on Great American Family, Saturday, February 22 (8p ET). Kingsbury’s popular novel of the same name is the first novel-to-screen adaptation from her new company, Karen Kingsbury Productions. Kingsbury wrote the screenplay along with her son, Tyler Russell. Someone Like You stars Sarah Fisher (“When Hope Calls,” Harvest Homecoming, Meet Me Under the Mistletoe), Jake Allyn (“The Baxters”), Lynn Collins (“The Walking Dead”), Scott Reeves (“General Hospital”), Robyn Lively (“Landman,” “Lioness”), and Bart Johnson (“Yellowstone,” “Landman”). Someone Like You is a love story with redemptive themes of family reconciliation, sacrifice, and beauty from tragedy, themes that often are the heart of works by Kingsbury.
The story follows architect Dawson Gage (Jake Allyn), who fell in love with London Quinn (Sarah Fisher) in high school, despite her protests. A decade later, Dawson and London remain best friends when tragedy strikes, leading Dawson to embark on a final, selfless mission for London: finding her secret twin sister, Andi Allen (also played by Sarah Fisher). The twins, separated as embryos, must confront their own journeys of love, loss, and discovery.
Lynn Collins and Scott Reeves star as London’s parents who donated an embryo, while real-life married couple Robyn Lively and Bart Johnson portray Drs. Jenny and Jim Allen, who adopted the embryo 20 years ago, unaware it resulted in London’s biological twin.

PURE FLIX AND GREAT AMERICAN MEDIA TO MERGE
Sony Pictures’ Faith and Family Streaming Service to Join Forces with Great American Media’s Portfolio of Family-Friendly Cable and FAST Channels to Serve Growing Audiences
Culver City, CA and New York, NY – May 11, 2023 – Pure Flix, a leading faith and family streaming platform owned by Sony Pictures Television, and Great American Media, home to a growing portfolio of family-friendly media brands, today announced the signing of an agreement to merge the two companies. Pure Flix will become part of the merged company, with Great American Media contributing two cable networks (Great American Family and Great American Living) and a FAST channel (Great American Adventures). Great American Media will retain a majority interest in the merged company and will oversee day-to-day management of the independent organization.
Great American Media President and CEO, Bill Abbott, will serve as CEO of the merged entity, reporting to the company’s board of directors. The new company will build on the multi-faceted, multi-channel family and faith media brands in the portfolio. Closing of the deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Pure Flix and Great American Media share the same mission to serve and delight consumers in the family and faith categories. Combining the power of Great American Media’s linear networks and FAST channel with Pure Flix’s SVOD service and vast content library will provide an opportunity for each platform to reach a larger and broader audience. Bringing the brands together into one entity will immediately establish the company as a leader in the genres.
“Family-friendly entertainment remains an important segment of the industry, and merging these two entities will create the greatest opportunity to achieve more scale for Pure Flix as it continues to build its subscriber base,” said Ravi Ahuja, Chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development for Sony Pictures. “Bill and the Great American Media team have been successfully leading the Great American Family and Great American Living brands, and we believe they have a winning plan to take Pure Flix to even greater heights.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SPT acquired Pure Flix in December 2020. The service provides faith and family-friendly movies and TV series to its ~1M subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
Featuring original Christmas movies, rom-coms and classic series that celebrate faith, family and country, Great American Family is currently in ~50M homes and is carried by all major cable providers. Great American Family recently closed out First Quarter 2023 as the fastest-growing network on TV for the second consecutive quarter.
